David Copperfield Accused of Sexual Harassment by 16 Women

In the United States, 16 women have accused famous illusionist David Copperfield of sexual harassment and misconduct. The allegations cover a period from the late 1980s to 2014, The Guardian reports.

More than half of these women have stated that they were not yet 18 at the time of the incidents, with some being as young as 15. However, it is noted that Copperfield may not have been aware of their ages.

Three women claim that Copperfield gave them drugs before engaging in sexual relations with them.

The 67-year-old illusionist strongly denies all the accusations. His lawyers stated that Copperfield «has never behaved inappropriately with anyone, especially with minors.» They also emphasized that he is a supporter of the MeToo movement, aimed at combating sexual violence by influential men.

These allegations have sparked a new wave of scandals involving prominent figures and have gained widespread attention in society. Copperfield, whose career has spanned decades and has included numerous high-profile shows and performances, is now under scrutiny from both the legal system and the public.
