Pensioner Fined for Causing Road Traffic Accident
A pensioner who caused a road traffic accident involving four cars was fined 850 hryvnias by the decision of the Lutsk city district court, Volyn News reports according to «VolynUA» data.
The accident occurred on June 4, 2024 in Strumivka in the Lutsk district. Mykola S., driving a Volkswagen LT 35, negligently chose the speed, leading to a collision with Mercedes Benz and Skoda Octavia cars. As a result, the Skoda Octavia was pushed towards an Audi Q5 car parked nearby. All cars suffered material damages in the accident.
During the court hearing, Mykola S. admitted his guilt in violating the traffic rules, expressed sincere remorse, and asked the court not to impose severe punishment on him. His guilt was confirmed by the protocol, the scene sketch, and written explanations of the participants.
Taking into account the lack of serious consequences and sincere remorse, the court softened the punishment. Mykola S. was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Article 124 of the Code of Administrative Offenses and fined 850 hryvnias, as well as ordered to pay 600 hryvnias in court fees.
