The Novomoskovsk District Quarantine Announcement

The Novomoskovsk District Office of the State Consumer Service has announced the introduction of a quarantine in the village of Orlivschyna due to the worsening of the epizootic situation with rabies among animals. This year, the second case of this disease has already been recorded. The rabies outbreak occurred due to a rabid fox caught by a fisherman on the banks of the Samara River, near the «Soniachna» recreation base.

Local Response to Rabies Outbreak

The local state anti-epizootic commission at the executive committee of the Pishchanska village council has declared the village of Orlivschyna a troubled area. As of July 10, a 60-day quarantine has been introduced, and a plan of measures to eliminate rabies has been approved.
