An indictment has been sent to court regarding a worker of the Federal Security Service of Russia, under whose supervision a local man in the Kharkiv region was tortured during the occupation by having his teeth pulled out and being beaten with electrical shocks.
According to a statement in the Prosecutor’s Telegram channel (Kharkiv region), the prosecutor’s office has sent an indictment to court against an FSB worker, who is accused of violating the laws and customs of war, committed in collusion with a group of individuals (part 2 of art. 28, part 1 of art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The accused is a resident of the Moscow region, an employee of the 9th Department of the Operational Information Department of the 5th Service of the FSB of Russia.
«The investigation found that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, the accused was sent to the occupied city of Vovchansk. There, under the leadership’s direction, he was supposed to suppress resistance and conduct «prevention» with resistant citizens,» the prosecutor’s office said.
In April 2022, the FSB worker, together with ten other Russian military personnel in Vovchansk, stopped the car of a local resident. The victim was suspected of collaborating with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and providing information on the deployment of the Russian army.
They ordered the man to drive his car along a specified route in the company of two Russian military personnel. Upon arriving at the local prosecutor’s office, where a detention unit was equipped, the occupants forcibly dragged the man into the basement, where, in addition to him, more than ten Ukrainians were also held.
