Unexpected Metro Stop in Kharkiv
On April 5th at 7:30 am in Kharkiv, an unexpected metro stop occurred. According to the subway spokesperson Oleksiy Bitner, the cause of the breakdown was issues in the city’s power system.
Restoration of Metro Service
After an hour and a half break, at 9:00 am, the metro service was restored.
City-wide Disruptions
Residents of Kharkiv report power outages in many areas of the city. Many households are also facing disruptions in water supply.
Recent Attacks on Power Plants
In the evening of April 4th, Russia launched several missile strikes on the city and region. The Zmiivska Power Plant was attacked on April 3rd, worsening the situation with electricity supply. This incident marks the first metro stop of 2024, following a massive attack on the city’s energy facilities on March 22nd.
