Internally Displaced Persons in Donetsk Region
There are currently five cities in the Donetsk region suitable for compact living of internally displaced persons (IDPs), according to Larisa Husieva, Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
The places for IDPs are arranged in the following settlements: Bilytske, Kostiantynivka, Novohrodivka, Bakhmut, and Druzhkivka.
Larisa Husieva noted that there were more cities in the region where IDPs lived compactly before, including Dobropillia and Pokrovsk. However, due to enemy shelling and the evacuation of people from these territories, the situation has changed.
Currently, up to 200 IDP families live in five places in the region for compact living. These are homes where rooms are prepared for people in need of such housing. IDPs can live here temporarily or permanently.
According to the operational data of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, there are approximately 64,000 internally displaced persons currently residing in the region.
