Corruption Cases Exposed in Odessa Region

The Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office has disclosed two instances of corruption within the region. A district council deputy misused his authority for personal gain by facilitating the privatization of land parcels. He requested a bribe of $20,000 in exchange for leasing land for the establishment of a car service station. The deputy was apprehended while accepting $10,000 at a restaurant.

In a separate incident, an employee from the district office of the State Migration Service solicited $3,000 to expedite the citizenship process for two minors. Following the bribe transaction, the individual was arrested by authorities.

Both perpetrators are currently subject to criminal prosecution for their involvement in illicit acts of corruption.
