Law enforcement officers from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district police department, together with operatives from the 7th Department of the Military Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine, have uncovered the illegal activities of a 52-year-old man. The man was arrested immediately after selling two packages of amphetamine weighing a total of 25 grams for 10,000 hryvnias. Police confirmed that these substances are psychotropic through the use of an express test.
During a sanctioned search at the offender’s place of residence, law enforcement officers seized illegally obtained money, as well as mobile phones, scales, packaging material, polymer containers with possible precursors, glass flasks, laboratory equipment with substance residues, and a powdery white substance. All seized items were sent for expert examination.
«Based on the evidence available and under the procedural guidance of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, we have informed the suspect of the suspicion of large-scale illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances, as provided for in part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to current legislation, the suspect faces imprisonment for a term of six to ten years with property confiscation. The court, at the request of the investigators, chose a preventive measure in the form of detention. The question of possible additional legal qualification of the suspect’s actions will be decided based on the results of expert examinations and other evidence collected during the investigation. The investigation is currently ongoing,»
