If Donald Trump wins the presidential elections in the United States
European leaders are obliged to convince Washington to continue the transatlantic policy. This was reported by the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, cited by «European Truth» according to Delfi.
Nauseda emphasized the importance of the continued presence of the United States in Europe
as a deterrent to Russian aggression. He stressed that this is necessary for the security of the region, and is ready to argue this necessity to the new US administration.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also expressed confidence that NATO will be able to work effectively with any US administration
including a possible administration under Donald Trump’s leadership.
