«The loss of the Trypilska TPP, like any large generation facility, will have a negative impact on the country’s energy balance. This means that there will be less internal capacity to cover consumption during peak hours,»
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine based on information from the company’s press service.
Currently, solar power stations are operating, and there is a small amount of export in the system. However, a slight deficit of electricity is possible during the evening peak hours — from 19:00 to 22:00.
«After sunset, imports will not provide the necessary capacity, and prices on the Ukrainian market remain lower than in the European market. Therefore, if neighboring countries cannot provide the necessary assistance, we will have to resort to emergency aid,» UkrEnergo stated.
If there is a need to limit electricity consumption, the company promises to notify in advance. «However, for now, we hope to manage without them,» they added.
The situation with energy supply in Kharkiv is especially complex. «The situation is most difficult there. Russia is trying to continue attacks on energy facilities in the region, and currently, we are trying to restore critical infrastructure and provide more capacity to the city and the region,» UkrEnergo noted.
The situation in Kharkiv is described as «unpredictable» due to ongoing Russian attacks. «Therefore, it is difficult to predict when we will be able to fully restore everything — it depends on the next attacks and their consequences,» explained the UkrEnergo press service.
