The water level rise in the Dnipro River in Kyiv
The water level in the Dnipro River within the borders of Kyiv has increased by 46 cm in recent days, according to Serhiy Popko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
As of April 18, the water level in the Dnipro stands at 607 cm above the «zero» level, accompanied by a water temperature of 13 degrees Celsius.
This is the highest water level recorded this spring, with an official danger level of I (yellow).
Despite the rise, Popko reassured that the spring floodwaters do not currently pose a threat to Kyiv, with no emergency flooding reported in the city. Industrial facilities and residential areas remain outside the danger zones.
Monitoring of flood phenomena is ongoing, with Popko recalling that the highest water level in 2023 so far was recorded on April 18 at 657 cm above the «zero» level.
